The Present Practice Realities for the Sake of Practice Guide of Fundamental Nursing

Abstract
This survey is chiefly concerned with the realities investigation on fundamental practice which has been performed at bedside and clinical training by students. How theoretical education at school will be applied to bedside and clinical training or how we should prepare for the more advanced practice guide, has been the chief subject of my report through several questions to be answered as follows : The object of my survey has been treated of clinical technology through practice by 221 students of 2nd grade and 266 of 3rd grade who have been studying at 4 different nursing school in Daegu-si at 4 National hospitals in Daegu-si and at 2 Local clinics. 1. On the vital sign check, the number of checking times by students during one day practice has been over 20 times that shows 41.6% predominantly. After checking, the case of responsibility being carried out shows 95.9% because charting should be done. 2. On the oral medication, the case of medicine being prepared by students shows 39.2% and it shows 19.1% when students have not been able to confess their mistakes on prescription of medicine for the patients beforer Head nurse or Doctor who has been incharge of. 3. On injection, it shows the majority as 86.7% when students have been to take care of intramuscular injection, and the times of taking care of intravenously injection have being increased as they goes up higher grade. 4. It shows 61.1% that bed making has been done 5 times per day, and itshows predominant as 65.6% that has being done on morning care. 5. The cleansing enema being done shows 67.2% concerning enema, and it shows 65.6% when students have been doing injections by themselves. 6. In case of female, it shows 56.7% when students have been doing catheterization by themselves while 22.7% when doing observation. 7. It shows 74.6% among total students when they have been to assist and to observe when doctor or nurse have been taking care of surgical patient¡¯s dressing. 8. Taking care of patients has been done by students. The order of frequency shows as follows: 1. Back alcohol massage 2. Bed bathing 3. Mouth care 4. Bed making 5. Bed shampoo. 9. It shows 30.4% in observation and 25.5% in preparation of materials and instruments when students have been under practice at operating room and anesthetic. 1O. By request from students for the sake of effective clinical practice, the wide scope of experimental practice with the observation of machanical instruments at the same time with theoretical education at school shows the majority as 56.1% and the ward conference, discussion, case study, etc. after clinical practice, will be more effective when they are to keep pace with the practice.
